The movie is a lighthearted comedy about a single woman who enlists the help of her sister and brother-in-law to find her husband’s perfect match. A New York City secretary, frustrated with dating and finding love, learns that she has an identical twin sister who lives in the Southern countryside. The desperate city dweller heads south to meet her country counterpart and hopefully find love. But first she has to convince her sister's family that she's not crazy and convince them to let her stay! She also needs them for support for this wild idea of hers: To change places with their shy southern farm girl so she can live one month as the other woman, then switch back. But even as she heads south, she can't keep from thinking about her husband, a handsome doctor who's never been the romantic type. Will her sister find love in the country, too? Or will the nagging city woman sabotage her sister's chance for romance? Will she ever find love in the south? This is a film that touches on many little nuances that may seem insignificant but could mean a lot to women; such as:The movie was produced and directed by Rich Little and written by Dina LaPolt and Greg Gregory. It stars Loni Anderson, Shelley Long and Jane Seymour. The film had a few notable actors in the movie. Shelley Long, Jane Seymour and Loni Anderson. These women were all on television during the 80s decade so it was an easy sell to get them on board for the film. Some of the actors in this film are still able to be seen today while others have faded into obscurity. The ones that are still relevant include: Jane Seymour who is currently starring on her own show “Wicked Tuna” Loni Anderson who stars in “Bar Rescue” and Jennifer Tilly who is an actress who appeared in several films including Austin Powers 3 . The movie did get a limited release of about 400 screens. The movie did not make it to the big screen and was instead distributed on VHS and DVD only. It did get a few TV spots but nothing near of magnitude like "Tanman". The film had a very limited run and was never given a wide release at all. Eventually the film disappeared from the public eye completely and was not made available again on any new releases. This makes "Life Partner" one of the last films that hasn't been seen since its original theatrical release in 1983. "Life Partner" was a box office bomb and ended up being a complete financial failure. The movie cost over $1 million to make and only made a total of about $250,000 in revenue.
