I have a confession to make: I don’t read light novels. They’re usually too fluffy for my tastes, and I find they aren’t that interesting when it comes to the story line. It was only because of my poor experiences with them that I didn't start this oh-so-popular genre sooner. However, when the anime came out in April of 2016, Sakura no Pet na Kanojo, which translates to "The Girl Who Fell from Heaven," immediately caught my attention and completely blew me away. It was one of the best anime I’ve seen in a while, and it ignited my interest in the light novel genre. The story is about an ordinary boy named Sorata Kanda who accidentally grabs another girl's panties when she falls out of the sky. She lands on top of him, but he doesn't really mind this because this random girl starts to grab onto him tightly. This girl says she's his fiancée who has been reincarnated from an angel. It turns out that she was using her powers to teleport to Sorata in order to meet him because she loved him so much when they were in their previous lives. Now that she is back as a human, she decides to spend her life with him. However, she asks for his help to defeat the Demon King who has set out to destroy the world. The reason is because she happened to have knowledge of his past life as a demon. It's because of this past life that he knows how to defeat the current Demon King, so he joins forces with her to stop this threat. While spending time with her, Sorata slowly starts falling for her. He finds out that there are other girls who have fallen from heaven... Other girls who are also his fiancees... This was such a heartwarming and lovey-dovey story. There weren't many romance stories that actually focused on the romance part of the plot, but this was one of them. It wasn't like a typical harem genre where the main guy is surrounded by multiple girls who all fall in love with him at first sight and he has to win them over. Instead, we see him fighting for these girls who know more about his past life as a demon than he does himself. If he defeats the Demon King, they will be able to stay by his side forever, which is such a sweet and romantic plot for this kind of story. I’ll go ahead and say it: I am a hopeless romance fan. So when I watched this, oh boy did it make me swoon. One of the biggest reasons why this anime stood out from the others was that while some of the relationships progressed way too quickly, they ended up being realistic and sweet anyways. Usually in an anime or novel, we see relationships that go from zero to one hundred in a matter of seconds and then stay there until the end without any kind of development. We also see main characters who fall in love with every girl they meet and every girl seems to fall for them instantly. cfa1e77820
